The discovery of small chocolate brands: Nouri & its balls


The chocolate industry is composed by numerous (sometimes they may even seem endless) companies. Being chocolate one of the things that we love the most on earth, we also feel a profound affection for those who deliver it to us: chocolate firms.


There are many famous brands, such as Ferrero, Lindt, Cadbury, Hershey, and Milka; but can you name a few of the smaller ones? Those that often get overlooked and put aside in favour for the large corporations.



We can and we’ll tell you too: one of our favourite small chocolate firms is definitely Nouri.


The reason why we like this brand so much is represented by its slogan:

'nourish your body, indulge your soul'

Nouri’s goal is to combine health and deliciousness; furthermore, all products are vegan, sugar free and gluten free without the addition of any artificial sweeteners.


We decided to interview Nouri and get to know more about this company and the values on which it’s built.


1. How did you start your chocolate company?

Like many other foodie entrepreneurs, before starting my own business I had a career in a big corporate. After I finished my MBA, however, I felt the confidence and urge to try it on my own and I choose a sector I loved, which is sweet treats. When I started 6 years ago, there was no much competition in the healthy ice cream market and this was my first brand: a super delicious, no sugar added ice cream Coppa della Maga (meaning in Italian ‘The bowl of the magician’).

Years later, after its successful development in several international markets, I decided to enlarge the portfolio and came up with a similar idea, combining health and indulgence but in a different sector and this is how the nouri healthy chocolate balls were created.


2. What do you love the most about this industry?

Everybody loves chocolate and it creates such a positive vibe in the industry! It is a product everybody likes to know more about, to enjoy, to buy and share with friends and family. By creating a healthy version of it, we can also indulge it guilt free.


3. What do your customers prefer? Dark, milk, or white chocolate?

We only do dark chocolate. For us this is the real, most genuine and healthy version of chocolate.


4. How do you promote your products?

Mainly though word of mouth and social media. We engage a lot with our fans and customers by posting regular content on Instagram and Twitter - both product related and educational about the ingredients, for example. We use the highest quality cocoa beans, cocoa butter and hazelnuts and would like to raise awareness among our audience about the difference the top ingredients make in the finished product.



5. Do you think social media networks nowadays are important for a firm? If yes, how so?

Social media is extremely important for us, as it allows us to communicate with our clients directly, reply to questions and receive immediate feedback. Furthermore, it is a great channel to also ask questions to our most loyal audience and hear their opinion about any ideas we are trying out.


6. What is a milestone that you accomplished in your company?

Only a few months after the brand’s launch, nouri has been awarded the prestigious SIAL INNOVATION Selection 2018 in Paris and can be found in the mini bars of some of the top hotels in the world, alongside other popular treats.


7. What do you want to communicate to your customers?

You do not have to sacrifice health for indulgence. That is why our slogan is 'Nourish your body, indulge your soul!'.


8. What’s your favourite chocolate recipe?

We are currently working on a recipe of dark chocolate spread with hazelnuts: completely sugar free and deliciously moorish. It is prepared with a very high-quality cocoa and is by far the best chocolate I’ve ever tried!


Nouri was featured on Women's Health, Tatler and Vogue, and we can clearly see why! This brand offers little balls of healthy deliciousness, it's honest and transparent in its relationship with consumers, it offers them a high quality product that they wouldn't normally find on the market; therefore, it differentiates itself from competitors.


We were really happy to find such a valuable chocolate company and we're very pleased to share our discovery with you!
